Mr. Combs comes to Pickens County entering his 22nd year in Education. He grew up traveling the world as a son of an enlisted Soldier in the United States Army. Mr. Combs then went to high school and The University of Arizona, when his father retired in Arizona. Mr. Combs has spent the last 17 years in Douglas County. His first 4 years in education were in Tucson, Az. In those 21 years, he has served as a Math teacher, on district curriculum teams, earned the honor of Teacher of the Year, assistant administrator, and assistant principal. Mr. Combs is the winningest head football coach in Alexander High School's history. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, cooking, and traveling. 
Mr. Combs has been married for 17 years to Miranda Combs, Assistant Principal at PJHS. Together they have two amazing children, Zander (15) and Kendall (13). Both are looking forward to the 2023-24 school year as Pickens Dragons.


Mr. Combs's goal for the 2023-2024 school year is for every Pickens High School Dragon to build relationships, laugh, and learn.
